With over 25 years in the IT industry, my journey has spanned from supporting financial trading software to going deep into the intricacies of cloud automation and infrastructure. My expertise is grounded in a diverse technical background, including working with access multiplexers and Sun Sparc Solaris machines (neither of which I enjoyed) in the late 90's and early 00's, thankfully this paved the way for me to follow a path of lot of Linux, AWS, Terraform, and a bit of programming here and there.
I love to get hands-on. I believe, if at all possible, in bypassing the often prolonged basics to tackle complex and advanced topics head-on. This method, I've found, is a much quicker way to learn and understand the intricacies of a technology.
With AI chatbots now prevalent and improving at a pace few predicted, I believe it's even easier to dive in at the deep end, because you can define your start point and query the things you don't understand.
In advocating for user-friendly Terraform, I prioritize clear and readable resource definitions within locals blocks. My aim is to demystify data manipulation and encourage direct engagement with the technology. I encourage diving into the complexities, experimenting, and learning through the process of trial and error. This approach is not just about solving problems but understanding the 'why' and 'how' behind each solution.
This platform is dedicated to those who share a passion for quickly grasping advanced concepts by applying them in real-world scenarios. Whether it's implementing features beyond your current understanding or adapting logic to your situation, the goal is to learn and grow while breaking as much as possible (in dev) along the way.
I like Bon Iver, Cats, Holidays, Home Automation, and Grafting. I use AI for coding, image generation (because why not?) and tweaking my fitness routine, everything else is written by a human (me) in a dimly lit bedroom, somewhere in the UK.
Welcome to a space where curiosity meets practical application.
